Static Hair Again? Let's rescue hair!

Hair Recreation

Hair grow dull not only from a cold, but also from constant use of means for styling. Give your hair some rest, do not use anything for about a week, except shampoo with the effect of deep cleansing.

And further more, arrange one "unloading" day in a week for your hair. Use these break days with advantage, feed hair with masks, rinse with grassy mixes.

Indulge weakened hair with an elixir of beauty which was known to ancient doctors of the South America. 2 spoons of aloe juice with 1 table spoon of castor oil and 20-30 minutes prior to head washing rub a mix in roots of hair.

Tips on Static Hair from Stars

Nicole Kidman to give her hair volume uses special large hair curlers in diameter not less than 10 sm, and that ringlets keep the form longer. Before removing hair curlers she slightly spots curls with a hairspray of an average fixing.

Sharliz Teron does not do her hairdress on just washed up hair: the hair will slide and be scattered, it can hardly be combed in a desired way, and the hairdress will quickly get out of the shape.

Liv Tyler puts mousse for styling only the tips of hair, thanks to it the hair does not stick together and all the day the hairdress of the actress holds its volume.

Lemon Hairspray

Excellent means for hairdress fixing is a lemon hairspray. To prepare it you should do the following: cut slices of lemon and boil in a water glass until the liquid volume doubles itself. Filter, add some drops of spirit or vodka.

Nourishing with an "Autumn" Mixture

When autumn comes many of us experience lack of vitamins, sun light, etc. and this affects our hair. The problem can be liquidated by washing hair with shampoo plus a nourishing "autumn" mixture. To 1-2 spoons of shampoo (depending on the hair length) add an egg and 1 spoon of gelatin. Shake the mixture thoroughly, rub in a head skin and distribute on hair. Egg and gelatin contain a lot of protein and hair, having received such strengthened food, becomes silky, shining and beautiful.

Chloric Water

If you visit a swimming pool, it's very important that you wear a special swimming cap. The chlorinated water of the pool makes your hair dry and weak. If suddenly you are in a pool without a swimming cap, right after swimming wash up your hair with fresh water and it's necessarily to use a hair balsam on a grassy basis.

Fighting Flyaway

Static Hair - Get Rid Of It

With very long hair, electrostatic can be a real burden. Your hair either sticks to everything, or really flees your head - creating those awful fly-aways. What do to? Well, there are several ways to help you.

Static can be very strong in wintertime. The reason for it is the dry air - with temperatures below freezing point, the air inside our homes gets very dry due to the heating. Get yourself one of those humidifiers, several models are available in the price range from like USD 25 up to quite some more bucks. They evaporate normal drain water, either by cooking small amounts of water, or by ultrasonic vapor mechanisms. There is no difference in the effect, except the ultrasonic types produce kind of a cold fog, and the cooking devices produce steam (careful here, don't touch the outcoming steam).

By using a humidifier, you get the air in your home back to normal humidity levels, and you will find that with increased humidity, the static will be reduced. For those of you with curly hair, your curls will get stronger with higher humidity.

If your hair is charged with static, brushing your hair is a nightmare. Static does more damage than anything, even with "static free" brushes. A solution is to rub a dryer softener sheet over the brush, and even down the wake of the hair, before brushing. It does wonders and cuts down of tangles!

Last tip: if you still have trouble with static, investigate on your hair care products. Some shampoos wash your hair so squeak clean, that all natural oils disappear - they protect your hair shaft, and prevent static, too. If you do not wish to change your products, use jojoba oil after washing to add the natural amount of oil to your hair.

If you can't seem to get rid of static, have a look at your wardrobe. Chemical fibers are apt to cause static - most important are viscose and polyester. Switching to natural (and electrically neutral) fibers like cotton, silk or wool also helps a lot in getting rid of static.

Reverse dry hair

Use natural ingredients for a deep-conditioning treatment.

Problem: Daily heat styling, constant chemical processing, over-shampooing, and frequent exposure to the sun and wind can dry out long hair.

Solution: A natural conditioner can offer an alternative cure for repairing dry hair. Simmer together one cup of milk, one cup of water, and dried rose petals. Allow mixture to cool and pour into a blender. Add a ripe avocado and two teaspoons each of honey and almond paste or almond oil (without alcohol). Blend ingredients together. Massage "conditioner" into locks section by section, wrap hair in plastic, and rinse after 30 minutes.

Long-term solution:
Keep blow-drying to a minimum, avoid overlapping chemical treatments, skip a shampoo day, and protect hair from the sun with a hat.

Fighting flyaway

When the air is dry or there's low humidity, hair loses water to the surrounding air and dries out. Dry hair builds up negative electricity (hair is predominantly negatively charged to begin with) and all those negative charges repel neighboring hairs, resulting in flyaway. Fine hair tends to get flyaway more than super thick locks because if individual hairs repel one another it's more obvious to the eye when hair is sparse. Sparse hair also dries out more quickly.

Most flyaway problems occur in the winter when their own static electricity. The simplest way to eliminate flyaway is to add water back and avoid products that tend to dry out hair.

DO shampoo your hair with a moisturizing or conditioning shampoo.
DO use a cream rinse after shampooing. Cream rinses reduce static electricity and flyaway because they keep hair from getting too dry.
DON'T overuse heat styling appliances. Using a blow-dryer everyday on a hot setting and then wrapping your hair in hot rollers will only dam-flyaway. Avoid heat damage by using a warm set ting on your blow-dryer, hold it away from your head as you dry hair, and keep the blow-dryer moving.
DON'T apply heavy gels to hair. Even though gels can weigh hair down, too much can have a dry
DO use a humectant (water attracting) styling product.
DON'T use styling sprays with alcohol. There are many products available that are alcohol-free.
DO use natural bristle brushes - they reduce fly away. Plastic bristles create more negative charges.
DON'T overuse hairspray. The old trick of spraying your hair or your brush with hairspray to tame static doesn't provide a quick fix, it just dries out hair
DO use a humidifier in your home.
DO mist hair with water. Carry a travel-size spray bottle with you or keep one in your desk to combat dry office air.
